Today we have learned that there are a few functions in maya I did no know about which are rather useful and I could possibly use these features in my models in the near future. These functions include soft select, the use of hard edges and the smooth function.
Soft select allows you to adjust the form of a shape easily while being able to maintain its roundness as it effects a radius. I used this to help me create my eve model for the animation. This is great for creating natural structures.
Hard edges, this works with the smooth tool. If you were to smooth a cube it turns into a sphere where as if you add the hard edges it stops this tool from affecting these edges, as you can see the far side is rounded and the close side remains the same as the edges are hard.
