Today in Tony’s Lesson we were learning how to create our own textures using photo shop. We were allowed to use images to go by when creating it but we were told not to strictly use them but we could paint over them. I decided to give it a go without even painting over the images and just use the images online as a guide by their visual features. The object we were told to texture tony had made and he had prepared the uvs for us as we were just learning how to create textures. Using Photoshop we were able to fill in the blank spaces with a colour of our choice and use an array of brushes and tools such as gradients to add effects to the pole we were supposed to.
When we were doing this he explained it as if we were giving the object a story so we were supposed to implement this in the texture. He said it is a medieval post which has been worn for lost of years been slashed by swords and worn. This is where I started to add the slash effects to the
